Internasjonalt seminar:
SAFE SPACES IN TROMSØ
- how can we make cultural events and nightlife more inclusive?
In recent years safety in cultural events has been reimagined and
reworked around the world with the introduction of so-called safer space policies and practices as a central actualisation. Focus points of safer space initiatives vary, but promoting consent and acTromsø bibliotek og byarkivcountability while counteracting sexual harassment and discrimination tend to be common objectives.
Generally safer spaces are understood as efforts to take people's subjective feelings of (un)safety more seriously, to amplify marginalized voices and to expand possibilities for expression, enjoyment and community. However, the concrete ways in which it makes sense to carry out such efforts in practice, depend greatly upon the specific social and cultural context.
What is a safe space and how does it look in a Tromsø context?
What measures are currently in place to ensure the well-being of our audience?
How can we foster greater collaboration within our community to improve safety and inclusion in Tromso's culture scene?
For å legge til rette for en åpen og inkluderende samtale hvor alle stemmer blir hørt, beveger vi oss bort fra det hierarkiske formatet til klassisk paneldebatt og presenterer et nytt format – demokratisk talk-show Talkaoke.
