Internasjonalt seminar:
MENTAL HEALTH IN THE ARCTIC:
What are the problems of
the youth today?
Seminaret holdes på engelsk.
The Norwegian Institute of Public Health announced on April 26th an increase in anxiety, depression, eating disorders and poorer mental health, as well as a decrease in well-being among children and young people in Norway. Over the past 50 years, large sums have been allocated to mental health without this being reflected in the statistics on recovery from mental illness.
The seminar aims to address the mental health situation of youth today in the High North and discusses what can be done to accommodate the challenges by bringing in the international perspective through dialogue and discussion.
- What are the problems of the youth today and do we acknowledge their invisible battles?
- How different is the mental health situation outside the Arctic and are there special conditions up north that need more focus to improve wellbeing?
- What can be done to raise awareness and create good mental health?
