EDUCATION FOR THE RICH?
Norway's new Tuition Fee Policy
Seminaret holdes på engelsk.
Norway joins the list of other Scandinavian countries to introduce tuition fees for international students from Non-EU Countries. This means that a wide category of students from both rich and poor countries will be affected.
Tuition fees risks decreasing the number of international student enrolment. Estimates from some of the Universities show an average fee of between 125,000- 180,000 NOK per year in addition to a subsistence deposit. At this point, there seems to be no going back.
- Why are tuition fees introduced in Norway?
- How will the tuition fee for non-EU/EEA Students impact internationalization and the quality of Higher Education in Norway?
- What will a practical solution for attracting and giving opportunities to international students from third countries such as Africa look like?
